Summertime and smoothies just seem to go hand-in-hand. When the weather is hot I love making my kids a smoothie for lunch. They are enjoyable treat for the kids and I know that they have good nutritious ingredients in them. I like to serve these with a homemade muffin or a peanut butter sandwich.

Here are some of our favorite smoothie recipes:

Banana Strawberry Kefir Smoothies New!

2 ripe bananas
1 heaping cup fresh strawberries (frozen will also work)
2 cups kefir
Honey to taste, optional

Put kefir, bananas and strawberries into your blender. Turn your blender on high and mix until all is smooth (taste to see if you want to add a little honey for sweetener at this point). Pour into a glass. Enjoy!

Strawberry Smoothie

2 cups milk
1 cup frozen strawberries
sweetener, to taste

Mix all in a blender until thick and smooth.

Fruity Smoothie

2 or 3 frozen banana pieces

Combine all ingredients in your blender. Blend until smooth. Add more juice if to thick or more frozen banana pieces if to thin.

Blueberry Smoothie

Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie

2T chocolate syrup (If you would like a homemade version of chocolate syrup you can find one on my website here: )

Put everything in the blender and blend until nice and smooth.

Peaches and Cream Smoothie
