Homemade Shake n Bake
1 cup
whole wheat bread crumbs (from homemade bread is the best option!)
1 cup
whole wheat pastry flour
3 T
Sucanat
1 T
onion powder
1 T
garlic powder
2 t
salt
½ t
pepper
Mix together and use the amount desired for your chicken pieces. I like to dip my chicken in a little milk, then dredge through the mixture. I lay the chicken on a greased (with non-stick spray) cookie sheet and bake at about 350 for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Longer cooking times are required for chicken with the bone in.
This recipes doubles and triples very well. Store in a coffee can or zip lock bag in the freezer to keep fresh.
