Homemade Fresh Salsa
Roma tomatoes
Onions, chopped
Jalapenos, fresh or jarred
Cilantro
Salt, to taste
Making homemade salsa is easy and quick. I don’t have measurements because you really can work with whatever you have. I use Roma tomatoes whenever I can because they are less juicy and make a better salsa. But at times I have used other types of tomatoes because that was what my garden was profusely producing or because I got them on sale at a great price. What ever type of tomato you are using you will need a lot of them. Pick the size bowl you want of salsa and know that you will have to fill that up with mostly tomatoes.
Chop tomatoes in small pieces. If you have a food processor this will go much faster. To a large bowl full of chopped tomatoes add chopped onions, jalapenos (the more you add the hotter your salsa, if you don’t want a real hot salsa make sure to leave out as many of the seeds as possible).
Wash and chop up some cilantro and add this. Let this all sit for about 15 minutes to blend flavors. Taste and add salt. Serve.
