Quiet Times With Jesus |

HOMEMAKING AND HOME MANAGEMENT stop in for a visit! |
I have grown to love this time so much that I wake up eager to begin. It has not always been so easy for me. I use to get up and begin to think of my day and my plans and occasionally would take the time to spend reading the Bible. I read a book by Elizabeth George that inspired me to take this time more seriously. I began praying that the Lord would put a hunger in me for time with Him. I am so thankful to say that He has answered that prayer greater than I could have imagined. Today I understand what it is to sit at the feet of Jesus and soak up His goodness and glory. I long for that each morning. If I get up late and miss this time, it affects my entire day. I desire to begin each day with Him because it is only in this way that my heart is focused on the tasks in my life that He has given me. I am ever aware of His presence giving me strength through out the whole day. I think the most important part of this time with Jesus, is that it becomes what is special between Him and me. I have done many different things during this time such as reading through the Scriptures in a year or Bible studies or devotionals. I don’t think it matters as much what is done as just making the steps to do something with the Lord each day. Praise music is good, but again I love the quiet. I write Scriptures that the Lord gives to me during these special times, on 3x5 cards and memorize them and pray these Scriptures for myself and others as the Lord leads. I write many of my prayers down in a journal. Right now I am praying for specific Scriptures for my children so I can effectively pray for them. This early morning time has become a personal sweet time at the feet of my Savior!
Here are a few favorite Scripture verses that talk about seeking after the Lord. Isaiah
55:6 Seek the Lord while He may be found, all upon Him while He is
near. Psalm 63:1
O God, You are my God; Early will I seek you; My soul thirsts for You; My
flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.

are some wonderful resources to help and encourage you to in your quiet
time. But, for me, over time, the greatest encouragement and joy in Him has come from His WORD!!!! Just to open the Bible and read, it is the very best method I know for spending time with HIM *************************************************** Quiet Time Journaling Journaling For Joy A Dozen Ways to Jumpstart Your Journal Prayer Journaling Alleviating Stress Through Journaling
